This theoretical article addresses the impact of disruptive technologies on the development of the social economy, in order to expand and enrich existing conceptual frameworks. It examines how key technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data can transform the business models, community management and social participation that characterize the social economy. Through a literature review and theoretical analysis, the benefits, and challenges of integrating these technologies in this context are discussed, highlighting their potential to foster innovation and improve efficiency in social and economic practices. This article contributes to the theoretical development of the intersection between disruptive technologies and the social economy, providing a conceptual framework to understand how these technological innovations can be leveraged to generate significant changes in communities, promoting equity, sustainability and social inclusion. Finally, directions for future research are proposed that can further explore this evolving relationship.
