Good Practices
Good Practices
"Un Espacio para la Ciencia" is committed to promoting and maintaining high ethical standards in scientific publishing. The following are the good practices that authors should follow to ensure the quality and integrity of their contributions:
- Authorship and Recognition: Publications should be the result of collaborative and essentially shared work. Proper attribution should be given to all participants, specifying their degree of responsibility and contribution to the work. Furthermore, it is essential to publicly acknowledge the participation of students and other collaborators, granting them appropriate authorship credit or acknowledgments.
- Originality and Respect for Intellectual Property: Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism. They should not present ideas or data from others as their own without clearly citing the source of the original author. Additionally, authors should submit a signed certificate of originality.
- Academic Diversity: "Un Espacio para la Ciencia" promotes academic diversity by ensuring that at least 50% of the published articles in each issue come from external teachers and researchers.
- No Predatory Publishing: "Un Espacio para la Ciencia" maintains a strong commitment against predatory publishing practices, especially regarding unjustified publication fees.
- Content Responsibility: The opinions, interpretations, reflections, and information presented in the articles are solely the responsibility of their authors. The Editorial Committee and the Scientific Committee of "Un Espacio para la Ciencia" are not responsible for the credibility and authenticity of the works.
- Consent and Agreement of Co-authors: When submitting an article, the corresponding author must ensure that, in the case of co-authorship, all authors are aware of and agree with the content and the submission to "Un Espacio para la Ciencia" for evaluation.
- Multiple Authorship: In cases of multiple authorship where the number of authors exceeds the maximum limit allowed according to the Guidelines for Authors of each article type, an additional document justifying the inclusion of multiple authors and clearly describing the responsibilities of each author in the work must be submitted. This document must be signed by each of the involved authors.
- Non-Withdrawal Commitment: Authors commit to not withdraw the manuscript for publication in another journal once the peer review process has started in Un Espacio para la Ciencia.
- Verification and Adaptation: The Editorial Committee reserves the right to verify sources and adapt graphical information to the editorial requirements of the journal.
These good practices are designed to ensure the integrity, quality, and ethical responsibility of publications in Un Espacio para la Ciencia. Authors who wish to contribute to the journal must strictly adhere to these guidelines.
